Chipotle Edible Garden at Como Park Zoo & Conservatory

chipotle edible garden como park“Will there be samples?” Olivia asked hopefully of the Chipotle Edible Garden. She’s ever on the lookout for a snack, that one. I doubted there would be samples, but there were a few sweet surprises at this new seasonal exhibit at Como Park Zoo & Conservatory.

For one thing, it’s more kid-friendly than Como’s website leads you to believe.  The children paused along the garden path at educational exhibits disguised as games. The scavenger hunt, in particular, took their little minds off the fact that they couldn’t pluck the lovely produce off vines and bushes right then and there. I alternated between helping with the hunt and dreaming of salad combinations.

For the Files: The Chipotle Edible Garden is located just south of the Visitor Center at the Como Park Zoo & Conservatory. Admission is free (donations of $2/adult, $1/child encouraged). Chipotle coupons we received: (1) BOGO on adult meals, (1) kids taco kit w/ purchase of adult meal  — and we were allowed to combine the coupons.
