Play Day at Midway Stadium

play day midway stadiumAndy came home from Play Day at Midway Stadium this afternoon and aside from acknowledging that he’d had fun, didn’t offer many details. That’s his style these days, rolling his eyes if I ask too many questions, occasionally asserting his right to plead the Fifth. I understand; he’s growing up. Luckily, I can remember taking him to Play Day two summers ago when he was still my t-balling kindergartener.

His little sisters came along for the ride. While their brother honed his swing, the girls enjoyed the inflatables, jungle gym and other fun activities on the field. Emily has since declared that she’s not interested in baseball, but Olivia may have inherited her dad’s pitching arm.

Finally, I managed to coax an admission that the Saints’ mascot, Mudonna, took the field to hang out with the kids. One of these days I’ll have to learn to be content with what I can get.
